Somebody asked me recently why I named my blog VivaLuxury, which got me thinking I never really discussed the meaning behind the name of my blog. You see, to me, the word luxury is synonymous with comfort, confidence and overall good feeling. My blog, above all else, celebrates the idea that clothing must be enjoyable to wear and make you feel good. Which brings me to this week's giveaway, when Opportuno contacted me about hosting a giveaway for one of their gorgeous designs, I couldn't help but think that a lightweight cashmere and silk dress represents a quintessential VivaLuxury item. If you visit my blog on regular basis, you know I drool over anything lavender. Something about the color reminds me of Summer, sunshine and freedom. Since my ever-expanding jean-pant collection did not yet include a pair in my favorite color, I was pretty psyched to come across these babies. This particular shade makes me especially weak in the knees:) 

Emil and I shot these pics last Sunday. We had one of those impossibly relaxing, gloriously lazy days, driving down Topanga canyon, car windows rolled all the way down, wind in our hair, sipping on iced lemonade, listening to Led Zeppelin. I think Summer is here:)

  As you can see, I continue on my quest to wear every bright color imaginable. Funny, I never used to be such a fan of brights. For years, my wardrobe was dominated by black, white and various shades of navy. Ok, maybe it was dominated by black a little more than everything else. I started to introduce new shades in a way of accessories fairly recently. I think bright accents are probably one of the easiest ways to wear color. Of course, those few bright accents led to more color in my wardrobe in general. And now, well, now I am a complete color addict. What a difference a few years make:)

This week I am very excited to team up with River Island to showcase some of my favorite fashion trends for SS12. Since I am such a fan of feminine dressing, peplum is certainly one of the trends I look forward to wearing this Summer. To keep this look soft I added a pair of cream trousers in a delicate floral print. Hey Everyone,

I wanted to take this opportunity to say Happy Birthday to my hubby Emil! I wish you all the very best, may this year bring you lots of happiness and laughs! Thank you for being the most wonderful person ever!:)

For his B-Day, we went to our favorite restaurant for some dinner, drinks and dancing. The purple number above is what I wore. Dressed up, yet comfortable enough for dancing. On a personal note, I always opt for wedges when I know I am going to spend a lot of time on my feet. You get the appearance of wearing high heels, without purple toes in the morning:)

GREEN DAY

Wearing an outfit comprised entirely of current favorites. You've seen most of these items on my blog before, some more than others:) What can I say, I love this clutch because it really does work with everything! But these pants are brand spanking new. Once in a while I get tired of wearing jeans,  so I always keep my eyes open for a pair of cool slacks. I got these from Asos a few days ago because, well, the fit is pretty amazing and of course I just love bright green. I have a distinct feeling you will be seeing them on my blog quite a bit, so feel free to let me know if I am overdoing it a bit:)
